Course Description :
Acne vulgaris is one of the top three common skin disorders in the Western Hemisphere. Although acne vulgaris is the most common skin disease associated with adolescence, affecting approximately 85% of teenagers, its prevalence continues into adulthood, thus challenging the perception that acne is a self-limiting disease of adolescence. There is a heightened awareness to physical appearance in today’s society, so there are notable emotional and psychological implications associated with individuals suffering from acne, namely lowered self-esteem and confidence. Current treatment options include regimens consisting of topical and/or systemic medications.
