Putting the ADA Caries Classification System to Work in Your Practice is organized by the American Dental Association (ADA). This Online CME Course has been approved for a maximum of 1 CE Credit(s)

The most common concern of dental caries disease is the caries lesion. It arises from an imbalance in the dynamic demineralization and remineralization process happening in a net loss of mineral over time. A system that categorizes the location, site of origin, extent, and when possible, the activity level of caries lesions consistently over time can be applied to resolve which clinical treatments and therapeutic interventions are most relevant to control and treat these lesions. The ADA Caries Classification System (CCS) administers clinicians a proposal to apprehend the spectrum of caries disease presentations ranging from clinically unaffected (sound) tooth structure through non cavitated initial lesions to extensively cavitated advanced lesions. The ADA CCS supports the range of clinical management options needed to treat both non cavitated and cavitated caries lesions. This Online CME Conference will present the clinicians with guidance about how to operationalize the ADA CCS and insight about how it can improve the clinical management of patient caries lesions.

• Outline risk factors for and the prevalence of dental caries
• Distinguish levels of caries lesions
• Review the application of the ADA Caries Classifications System to clinical practice
