Activity Objectives:

Neurology: Depression in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in a Large Self-Reporting Cohort is organized by American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and will be held during Mar 15, 2016 - Mar 15, 2019.

The target audience for this medical event is physicians who are involved in providing patient care and who wish to advance their current knowledge of clinical medicine. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 0.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Learning Objectives :

Upon completion of the article by Thakore and Pioro, the participant should be able to:
• Describe the effects of depression on median survival in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
• Identify subgroups of patients with ALS who may be especially vulnerable to the effects of depression on mortality
• Describe the natural history of depression (as measured by the PHQ-9 score) in patients with ALS.
