Medication Administration and Medication Error Prevention for FL CNAs is organized by AchieveCE. This Course has been approved for a maximum of 2.0 Contact Hours.

Course Description:
This course fulfills the state of Florida’s annual two-hour in-service training requirement regarding medication administration and medication error prevention for certified nursing assistants. This is a self-directed course that participants can complete from the convenience of their computer or mobile device.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Recall Florida’s rules and regulations regarding medication administration by certified nursing assistants.
• Describe the frequency of medication errors and common types of medication errors.
• Identify steps that CNAs can take to reduce medication errors and improve patient safety.
• Describe the various routes of medication administration.
• Recall the steps involved in administering oral, ophthalmic, otic, rectal, topical, enteral, inhaled/nebulized, and transdermal medications.
