Essential Psychopharmacology Volume 5 is organized by Hatherleigh Medical Education.

Target Audience:
The primary target audience for this program includes, but is not limited to addiction treatment professionals, primary care physicians, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, clinical psychologists, pharmacists, and social workers. Clinicians who have caseloads composed significantly of individuals with psychiatric disorders, comorbid medical illnesses, and substance use and addictive disorders will find this course particularly useful.

Initiation of Buprenorphine in the Emergency Room Setting*

Overall Objective: 
The objective of this continuing medical education (CME) program is to present participants with an expanded clinical skill set and raised awareness of clinically relevant issues in their profession. Participants will review the history behind psychopharmacology and the changes in its criteria over time, and how psychopharmacology is used among various population groups. Upon completion of the program, participants will be better equipped to face the challenges of daily practice while providing evidence-based care to patients and clients. The expected outcomes include an increase in knowledge, competence, professionalism, and performance.
