These webinars have been designed for medical students and core trainees. The topics addressed in the series directly correlate with the GMC outcomes for graduates.
There are nine webinars available in this series comprising arterial, venous, and lymphatic diseases. The webinars include the epidemiology of common vascular diseases and their assessment, and common vascular topics such as Aortic Aneurysms, ischaemic legs, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and varicose veins. Each webinar is comprehensive and approximately 40-45 minutes in duration.
On the topic of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), the trainees and students will learn about the rationale behind screening and surveillance for AAA, optimisation of patients before surgery, and elective and urgent management of AAA.
The webinar discusses the assessment and diagnosis of an ischaemic leg and chronic arterial disease, manipulation of cardiovascular risk factors, and their management. Furthermore, the students will learn about amputation, rehabilitation, and community support following discharge from the hospital.
The webinar on DVT discusses epidemiology, risk factors, prevention, diagnosis, and their management. The students will also learn about the long-term sequelae of DVT and its management.
The students will learn about the clinical presentation of varicose veins and their management. The management of post-thrombotic syndrome, venous leg ulcers, and chronic venous insufficiency has been extensively discussed.
Finally, the management of lymphatic diseases such as lymphoedema has been discussed.
