OVERVIEW

Pediatric Infectious Diseases: A Primary Care and Hospitalist Approach is organized by American Medical Seminars (AMS), Inc. and will be held from May 08 - 11, 2023 at Lido Beach Resort, Sarasota, Florida, United States of America.

Agenda & Learning Objectives:
1 Day:
Pediatric Immunization Update and Challenges of Vaccine Refusal
Upon completion of this session, using information published by the CDC and AAP, the participant should be better able to: GL, COMP
• Describe the specific epidemiology of disease-preventable by vaccination.
• Appropriately Utilize vaccines according to ACIP and AAP guidelines.
• Incorporate and implement the significant modifications and updates to the ACIP/AAP's recommendations at present
• Approach the issue of vaccination refusal and offer strategies for clinical intervention to improve parents' education and co-operation.

Pediatric Meningitis Revisited
Upon completion of this session, the participant should be better able to: GL, COMP
• Assess common characteristics of viral and bacterial meningitis.
• Find the pathogens and create the treatment plan to treat meningitis caused by bacteria in children, as per the Cochrane Database, systematic reviews, and AAP Guidelines.
• Recognize the current diagnostic tools and the most appropriate management strategies and complications of bacterial meningitis.
• Relate the effect of immunizations on meningitis bacteria.

 Chief Complaint: Fever and Rash:
At the end of this program, participants will be capable of completing the following: COMP.
• Recognize distinctive clinical illness accompanied by a rash and fever.
• Create a method for diagnostics in the laboratory and clinical.
Serious Infections of the Head and Neck:
Following the completion of this course at the end of the session, the participant should be capable of COMP, GL
• Differentiate the condition's symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment for peritonsillar parapharyngeal and retropharyngeal infections according to the Otolaryngology Clinic Practice Guidelines.
• Develop a way of dealing with the child with red, swollen or swollen eyes or cheeks.

Antibiotic Update:
After the session is completed at the end of this session, the participant should be capable of GL, COMP:
• Examine recent developments in resistance to antibiotics.
• Increase the use of empiric antibiotics in common pediatric conditions by the AAP guidelines.
• Design strategies to counteract any further resistance from bacteria, as suggested by the CDC.

2 Day: 
The Age of MRSA:

 

 After completing this session and utilizing the evidence-based guidelines of the CDC as well as after completing this session, and using the CDC's evidence-based approaches as well Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, and EBM publications, the student will be better equipped to use: EBM, GL, and COMP.
• Define the beginning and the development of resistance to drugs that caused MRSA.
• Discuss the variations in prevalence as well as the diagnosis and treatment for MRSA, a hospital- and community-based MRSA.
• Recognize the importance of a precise and timely diagnosis when faced with the risk of MRSA.
• Make a management stratification by clinical scenario and severity using IDSA.PIDS Guidelines.
• Implement practical and tested preventative measures to decrease the likelihood and severity of MRSA.

Kawasaki Disease: 
After completing this course at the end of the session, the participant should be competent in using COMP and GL.
• Recognize clinical/laboratory manifestations of Kawasaki disease.
• Manage and evaluate patients by AAP/AHA guidelines.
Be aware of the possibility of coronary complications.

Cases are taken from the files of the Pediatric ID Consultant:
After this session, the participant should be capable of GL or COMP at the end.
• Learn from instructive infectious diseases in children cases and create strategies for a range of challenging clinical problems described to your ID consultant.
• Apply clinical tips and expert opinions to your clinical practice, along with various Management guidelines.

 Acute Otitis Media: Of Pathogens and Patients:
After completing this course after this session, the participant will be able to learn better: Components of GL and COMP.
• Recognize trends in the resistance of children to pathogens.
• Review recommendations in the AAP/AAFP guidelines.
• The best way to do this is to prescribe an empiric antibiotic treatment.

Fever in Infants:
After completing this session following the evidence-based guidelines derived from EBM publications, The participant should be able: EBM, GL, and COMP.
• Identify the most commonly found bacterial pathogens that cause fever in infants younger than eight weeks old compared to older infants.
• Discuss the justification for evaluating diagnostics in these patients using the Academy of Pediatrics' Guidelines and stratification instruments.
• Apply the appropriate treatment options appropriate to the patient group.

3 Day:

 Tick-Borne Infections: Hot Spots and Bullseyes:
After the session is completed after the session, the participant should be capable of GL, COMP:
• Examine the epidemiology of tick-borne illnesses.
• Recognize the symptoms of the clinical or laboratory.
• It is appropriate to prescribe treatments, including the most recent IDSA guidelines.

Pediatric Lower Respiratory Infections:
Following the completion of this course and following the evidence-based guidance in EBM publications After the session, participants will be able to use: EBM, GL, and COMP.
• Incorporate the connection between patients' age, seasonality symptoms, clinical signs and chest x-rays in diagnosing pediatric pneumonia.
• Create a screening strategy for infants and children suspected of suffering from pneumonia. Discuss the options for treatment and the implications of the emergence of resistant bacterial strains. Applying American Academy of • Pediatrics Guidelines.
• Determine whether the patient suffers from a lower respiratory infection and is at risk of chronic flaccid myelitis (AFM).
• Recognize and take care of lung injuries that are caused by smoking.
Pathogens in the News: What Do They Mean for You:
Following the completion of this course and following the guidelines of the CDC after which, the participant will be able to perform: Comp, GL
• Recognize the current epidemic of highly contagious viral infections or other diseases of infection that are the most significant public health risk.
• Find key clinical manifestations for these illnesses as documented in the CDC guidelines.
• Plan for the necessary precautions in case of new-discovered viruses, as CDC guidelines and protocols recommend.
• Use CDC-recommended actions to contact Hospital, Local, State, and Federal Health Officials if appropriate or mandated.

 Urinary Tract Infections:
After this session and following the evidence-based guidelines of the AAP, The participant will be better prepared to handle the following: EBM, GL and COMP.
• Find out the instances in which urinary tract infections must be considere
• Review diagnostic methods to treat urinary tract infections. Identify their reliability and their applications and identify their limitations.
• Use the most effective treatment choices.
• Review the controversy surrounding follow-up and preventive strategies.

Virus X: Ubiquitous, Uncanny, Understandable:
 After completing this course at the end of this session, the student should be able to learn better: Comp, GL.
• Recognize the numerous clinical signs and symptoms associated with EBV infection.
• Request appropriate lab work-ups by the circumstances and treatment per AAP Guidelines.
• Be aware of the natural course and potential complications of the infection.

4 Day:
At Scratch Disease: Old and New:
After this session After this session, participants should be better prepared to be able to COMP
• Recognize the traditional, the less well-known, and the unique clinical manifestations of cat scratch disease and the general treatment approach for diagnosing.
• Discuss the application and limitations of laboratory diagnostic tests.
• Use suitable treatment for different clinical ailments related to Bartonella henselae infections.

Influenza: What's New and What You Can Do:

After this session after this session, the participant will be able to learn better: Components of GL and COMP.
• Identify recent changes in influenza epidemiology.
• List CDC guidelines and recommendations on vaccination.
• Consider prescribing antiviral treatments and antiviral prophylaxis.

Infectious Diseases Walking Through Your Office Door:
Following the completion of this course and following the evidence-based guidance in AAP and the Red Book, upon completion of this session AAP along with Red Book, upon completion of this session and using the evidence-based guidelines from AAP as Red Book, the participant will be able to use: EBM, GL and COMP.
• Be prepared for emerging and common illnesses.
• Identify vital signs and symptoms.
Create a strategy to manage.

The child with "Too Many" Infections:
After the session is completed at the end, the participant should be competent to complete the following: After the session, COMP.
• Perform an office-based assessment of the child who has frequent infections.
• Recognize the manifestation of the most frequent reasons for frequent infections in children, determine whether to look into immune deficiency conditions and then identify the management issues for doctors who provide pediatric healthcare.
• Make use of information about the crucial role of allergies and atopy in the cause of "too many" infections.
Lymphadenopathy in Children: Diagnostic Approach:
