103rd Annual Meeting of the German Society of Pathology is organized by German Society of Pathology / Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Pathologie e.V.(DGP), MCI Germany GmbH and will be held from Jun 13 - 15, 2019 at Kongresshaus Kap Europa, Frankfurt am Main, Hessen, Germany. The motto of the 103rd annual conference of the German Society for Pathology in Frankfurt am Main, "Yes, we care", is primarily intended to indicate the responsibility pathology carries in modern medicine. This applies in particular to the four topics of the annual conference: • In the 4th edition of the WHO Classifications of Endocrine Tumors, published in 2017, a number of important changes, such as the reassessment of the biological behavior of various endocrine / neuroendocrine tumors, have been introduced. However, the concept of "low malignancy neoplasms", which saves the patient from the onerous diagnosis of "cancer", can only be successful if pathology classifies these tumors appropriately and responsibly. • The second topic focuses on transplantation pathology; through groundbreaking new procedures, even qualitatively marginal organs can now be successfully transplanted. There are completely new ways here. This topic also has a major sociopolitical dimension due to the current discussion on remedying organ shortages in Germany. • The paramount role of pathology with all its facets in precision oncology is addressed in the third theme. The point of "preanalytics", the optimal handling of sample material, will play a proven role in this; This topic should also be of particular interest to the occupational group of medical-technical assistants. • A special focus of this annual conference will be devoted to the history of pathology. Among other things, an exhibition on the first results of the research project on the role of pathology in the years 1933-1945 is planned here. Topics: • Endocrine / neuroendocrine pathology • transplant pathology • precision oncology • Digital pathology • History of pathology Time: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm * Evidence required (eg Membership, Enrollment, MTA / ZTA certificate or student card) For natural scientists eg diploma / master / doctorate / certificate from the employer); DGCH: German Society of Surgery, DGHO: German Society for Hematology and Medical Oncology eV ** No certification by the Hesse Medical Association.
