Biomolecular Condensates: Emerging Cellular and Biophysical Roles is organized by Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology and will be held from Jan 29 - Feb 01, 2023, at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Description:
Since the first Keystone meeting on Biomolecular Condensates, there has been a flurry of curiosity and new findings that suggest intracellular phase transitions as the primary route for forming membrane biomolecular condensates. Additionally, the roles linked with the phenomenology of phase transitions and the spatial and temporal regulation given by biomolecular condensates are multifaceted. Condensates, or certain versions thereof, are involved in virtually every aspect of the physiology and pathology of diseases affecting cells. The second iteration of the Keystone gathering will consist of a new raft of speakers to bring together a strong focus on developing issues. Condensates will be discussed, along with the physical principles that underlie phase transitions, the structural aspects of condensates, and the roles of condensates in providing integrated responses in space and time that directly influence cellular functions and pathophysiology. The talks will feature a truly diverse group of speakers.
Note: This course is also available On-Demand.
