Topics in Primary Care and Interprofessional Teams is organized by Continuing Education, Inc. and will be held from Sep 18 - 25, 2022 at Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas, Barcelona, Spain.

Program Purpose:
According to the most up-to-date figures taken from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III) In the period between 2011 and 2012, almost 70 percent of adult Americans were either overweight (BMI ? 25kg/m2) or obese (BMI ? 30 kg/m2). Obesity is chronic, multifactorial inflammation disease that causes excess body fat is built up by a complex interplay between environmental factors, genetic predisposition human metabolism, and psychological and neuroendocrine aspects.

At any time around 55 percent of the population are engaged in a medically controlled or self-selected weight loss plan and most of them do not achieve or maintain weight loss. Of those who have succeeded in weight loss, more than 60% of them will gain their weight loss at the end of the year one year following the initial success in losing weight. A mere 15% of adults engage regularly in exercise, and more than 70% of adults are physically sedentary. Lifestyle and behavioural interventions are the foundation of the management of risk factors for cardiovascular disease to enhance both short- and long-term results and the measurement of the quality of living.

Dyslipidemia, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus as well as inflammation, are among the main variables that can be modified by weight and obesity. Studies have shown that successful managing obesity and overweight requires a steady change in lifestyle and frequent monitoring in addition to the medical treatment of cardiovascular risk elements. The rising rate of obesity and excess on the part of patients affects the clinical judgments regarding management strategies, as well as the health outcomes of every health professional regardless of their area of expertise. This conference has been planned with the goal of providing healthcare professionals with the most recent clinical research that is scientifically based and examining the severity of the problem as well as the environmental and genetic causes along with the pathophysiology and complications that are associated with this epidemic of obesity. This knowledge will be translated into the medical setting during the conference, using modern, evidence-based strategies to treat obesity and its comorbidities.
1. The effect of obesity, a long-term illness on our health system.
Examine the widespreadness of overweight as a persistent illness as well as the potential for co-morbidities that are interconnected, and the consequences for health.
2. Mechanisms that link excess adiposity with metabolic dysregulation.
Discuss how excess weight gain is related to metabolic dysregulation.
3. Mood disorders that are related to obesity and insulin resistance.
Examine how certain obesity-related issues, like eating disorders, mood disorders, sleep apnea, and so on affect strategies for management.
4. Future and present aspects of pharmacotherapy to treat overweight and obesity.
• Examine new guidelines in the application of the present drug agents, and also the development of new drugs to treat the type 2 form of diabetes and obesity and excess weight.
5. Genetics plays a role in the obesity epidemic.
• Determine the relation between environment and genetics in the cause of obesity.
6. The effectiveness of bariatric surgeries and the treatment of patients with bariatric problems.
• Discuss the impact of bariatric surgery on the pathophysiology and treatment of type 2 obesity and diabetes.
7. Strategies to improve behavioural and lifestyle habits and treatments for the management of obesity, diabetes and obesity.
