Overview

Neurocircuitry of Social Behavior is organized by Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology and will be held from Sep 04 - 07, 2022 at Daejeon Convention Center, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, South Korea.

Description:
Many mental disorders can cause impairments in social cognition or behavior. It is crucial to understand the neural circuits that underlie social behavior in order to develop new treatments. The Symposium will be focused on the neural processes that regulate normative social behaviors. Social neuroscientists have never been able to analyze social processes at the circuit level. However, other neuroscientists who are interested in the circuitry of social phenomena have not been able to attend meetings hosted by social neuroscientists. To bridge this gap, we aim to gather a "Dream Team", a group of researchers. This Symposium has specific goals: 1. Gather the rising stars and pioneers from many fields who are passionate about social neuroscience and have made important contributions. 2. The neural circuit perspective is a way to address the most important questions in social neuroscience. Social recognition, social decision-making, social bonding, nurturing, aggression, stress, empathy, and social decision-making. Discuss standardization of conditions for different behavioral paradigms that are optimized for circuit studies. 4. Attract young social neuroscience scientists from a variety of perspectives. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about advanced technologies and to expand their knowledge to include social behavior in their social neuroscience research. There are many conferences that focus on social neuroscience or neural circuits, but none of them combine both subjects and attract speakers from so many backgrounds. Many of these speakers are also pioneers in other areas of neuroscience and are making important discoveries about how and why people interact with each other. This meeting will result in a paradigm shift within the field of social neuroscience and open up discussions between broader communities than have been possible so far.
