67th American Academy of Psychotherapists (AAP) Annual Institute and Conference is organized by the American Academy of Psychotherapists (AAP) and will be held from Oct 26 - 30, 2022 at The Peabody Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee, United States of America.
Description:
The aim of the AAP is to make opportunities for learning and development available to both newly licensed therapists and more experienced practitioners. The AAP places higher importance on relational workshop experiences and actively encourages interaction over the formality that is prescribed. In order to achieve this goal, our meetings include not only more conventional forms of training workshops, but also interpersonal groups, experiential workshops, and treatment demonstrations.
Target Audience and Instructional Level:
Participating in our Institute and Conference would be beneficial to psychologists and counselors, social workers as well as couples and family therapists psychiatrists, sex therapists and mental health professionals, and graduate students from mental health-related disciplines. The level of instruction of the plenary and workshops is suitable for novice advanced, intermediate, and new practitioners unless otherwise noted.
Participants will be in a position to:
• Discover communication barriers that could operate out of our perception.
• Better understand the social, systemic, and subgroup dynamics that are related to large group identities.
• Identify socio-cultural-political and other contextual factors influencing our clinical practice.
• Consider the impact the collective experience of trauma has on the lives of groups by examining the present and future that is that of the Large Group.
• Consider and interact with each other as citizens with more sincerity and respect for each other.
• Recognize ourselves in others, and in the inside us.
