Conference Description:
Most clinicians ‘pick up’ ultrasound guidance techniques in clinical work - few are formally taught. This medical conference has been created to deliver the practitioners an understanding of ultrasound guided procedures, machine optimization and covers tips and traps, anatomy familiarisation on real volunteers, and needling practice on phantoms. A small group of practical modules with experienced tutors will enable the participants time to master these techniques in a stress-free environment.
Conference Objectives:
Upon fulfilling this medical course, attendees should be able to:
• Recognize the parameters for the secure application of ultrasound and its limitations in medical diagnosis
• Understand the physical principles, artifacts, and the steps for image optimization while performing the ultrasound.
• Train on the “hands on” ultrasound scanning facilities required to maximize diagnostic ability in answering relevant clinical questions
• Give the ultrasound-guided vascular access techniques in phantoms
• Perform ultrasound guided steep needle methods for Paracentesis and Thoracentesis
• Obtain the images gained on normal adult volunteers & phantoms
• Illustrate images from normal adult volunteers
• Furnish the learner with the foundation skills to begin to incorporate the ultrasound skills with the clinical situation to make appropriate management decisions
