3rd Sapporo Conference for Palliative and Supportive Care in Cancer (SCPSC)
3rd Sapporo Conference for Palliative and Supportive Care in Cancer (SCPSC) is organized by Higashi Sapporo Hospital (HSH) and will be held from Aug 20 - 21, 2021 at Sapporo Grand Hotel, Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
The program for Day One is mainly focused on Palliative Oncology.
The theme of the morning symposium is “Opioids and Cancer Pain: Evolving Science and Practice”. It is understood that opioid use is generally progressing in pain management in countries and regions where they are regularly prescribed; however, it is unfortunate that they are often regarded critically due to opioid abuse and drug dependence. Nonetheless, opioids remain a symbol of Palliative Care pharmacotherapy, and if they are properly understood and administered, they will continue to play a central role in cancer pain management. In this symposium, the scientific theory behind and practical advances in Opioids and Cancer Pain will be reported.
The program for Day Two deals with psycho-oncology, particularly spirituality and existential distress.
• In the morning Spirituality symposium, its science and practice will be discussed.
• In the afternoon Plenary Session, the basic and clinical aspects of existential suffering will be explained.
Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
