TCAR Education Programs (a division ofVisionem Inc.) is accredited as a pm'ider of continuing nurse education by the American Nurses Credentialing Centers Commission on Accreditation. Continuing education hours are also provided through Visionem Inc„ a provider approved by the Califomia Board Of Nurse Registered Nursing, provider Number 15483, To receive a certificate of completion, learners must submit an online course evaluation and attend 2 Class days (14 Contact hours) or 1 day (7 Contact hours).

Program Overview:
Part I:

Participants focus on concepts relevant to the nursing care of the injured, hospitalized child:
• The trauma care spectrum
• The biomechanics of trauma 
• The body's response to injury

Part II: 
Learners apply information from Part I by participating in interactive expanding case scenarios that focus on the care Of hospitalized children With injuries to various body regions. Cases include the surgical, medical, and nursing management of patients with:
• Thoracic injury
• Abdominal injury
• Musculoskeletal injury
• Craniocerebral injury
• Spine & spinal cord injury

Program Description:
Unlike trauma education programs targeted at prehospital and emergency care providers, the Pediatric Care After Resuscitation (PCAR) course is specifically designed for acute care, critical care, and perioperative nurses who primarily work with children.

This pedi-specific version of the TCÄR course is a live, 2-day program that gives inpatient bedside care providers the foundational, evidence-based information and critical thinking skills necessary to meet regulatory requirements and provide excellent care to this challenging patient population.
