Update on Neurology and Psychiatry of Women - What Every Practitioner Needs to Know is organized by Harvard Medical School (HMS) and will be held from May 31 - Jun 01, 2019 at The Hale Building for Transformative Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America.

Target Audience:
This course is targeted to Physicians, Psychologists, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Family Practice Clinicians who practice in Anesthesiology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry and Neurology, and/or Psychology and Mental Health.

Accreditation:
Physicians

The Harvard Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Harvard Medical School designates this live activity for a maximum of 14.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses
For the purpose of recertification, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and American Nurses Credentialing Center accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education). We would also suggest that learners check with their state licensing board to ensure they accept reciprocity with AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for re-licensure.

Physician Assistants
The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) states that AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ are acceptable for continuing medical education requirements for recertification. We would also suggest that learners check with their state licensing board to ensure they accept reciprocity with AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for re-licensure.

Canadian Accreditation
The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada recognizes conferences and workshops held outside of Canada that are developed by a university, academy, hospital, specialty society or college as accredited group learning activities.

European Accreditation
Through an agreement between the American Medical Association and the European Union of Medical Specialists, physicians may convert AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ to an equivalent number of European CME Credits® (ECMEC®s). Course Description:
This course will educate participants about issues specific to women with neurological and psychiatric disease. The presentations will focus on sex and gender differences of neurological and psychiatric conditions across all stages of women’s lives - from menarche through pregnancy/postpartum and menopause. The course is designed to address the continuing education needs of all physicians including, but not limited to, those in neurology, psychiatry, internal medicine and obstetrics. The presentations will provide high quality, leading-edge content focusing on evidence based clinical approach and up to date research on women’s health and gender-specific care in both neurology and psychiatry. Interactive learning formats including case-based presentations and Q&A will be utilized to allow learners to engage in the educational process.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Utilize the information presented to recommend appropriate gender specific treatment and management of many neurologic and psychiatric diseases including stroke, bipolar disease, depression, headache, conversion disorders, and epilepsy.
• Evaluate treatment strategies for conditions across your female patient’s life cycle.
• Develop strategies to treat sexual and urologic dysfunction in women.
• Apply appropriate guidelines for the treatment of neurologic and psychiatric diseases in women.
