Revolution in RATS: combining New Technologies and No Tech. Processes is organized by Medical Training Center (MTC), Invivox and will be held from Mar 07 - 08, 2019 at Medical Training Center, Rouen, Haute-Normandie, France.

What will you learn ?
• Image-assisted surgery: pre-operative planning, virtual reality
• Operative security: team training and crew resource management
• Pre-operative markings using: virtual bronchoscopy and mini-probes
• Tips and Tricks in complex cases
• 3D planning reconstruction

Teaching Methods
Live case observation, Simulation, Video, Lectures

Course Overview:
This practical course will help you discover the latest technological advances in robotic surgery for the management of lung cancer through:

• CRM - Crisis Ressource Management (live case simulation)
• pre-operative planning (with 3D imaging) and marking (virtual bronchoscopy and mini-probe)
• use of new robotic tools: X platform, Robotic Stapler, FireFly, Tile Pro, Energy with fusion (Intuitive Surgical)
• 3 simulation plateforms will be at the disposal of the trainees for them to test in live the Pr Baste 's tips and tricks

One of the problems of minimal invasive thoracic surgery is major intraoperative complication, especially in RATS. To address this safety concern, we started developing new tools 3 years ago with the aim of improving operative safety and using a multidisciplinary approach.

One of the main aspects of preventing and managing major complications is based on simulation with team resource management, acute stress management and the development  of non-technical skills.

This part of the course will draw on the expertise of different specialists: an anesthesiologist, a radiologist, a human factor expert from aviation, a psychologist, a specialist in communication and of course a surgeon.

Medical Devices:
• AirSeal iFS (ConMed-Surgiquest)
• Da Vinci Xi 4-arms (Intuitive Surgical)
• VP Planning (Visible Patient, Therapixel)
• Simulator Mimic RATS
• Tri-Staple Technology Signia (MEDtronic)
• Plateform Xi: Robotic Stapler, FireFly, Tile Pro, Energy with fusion (Intuitive Surgical)
• Echelon Flex 8mm Vascular Stapler (Johnson and Johnson)
