Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Course is organized by Clinical Skills Development Service (CSDS) and will be held from Aug 24 - 25, 2019 at Townsville Hospital, JCU Clinical School, Townsville, Queensland, Australia.
Doctors, nurses, ambulance officers, medical students, and military, fire and police (where relevant to trauma management).
PHTLS is a two-day multidisciplinary course designed to increase knowledge and skills in handling trauma patients and delivering critical care in frontline pre-hospital trauma care.
The course runs from 7.00 to 17.00 on Saturday and 7.00 to 16.45 on Sunday.
Courses are currently scheduled for delivery in Biggenden, Brisbane, Charleville, Richmond and Townsville.

Registration for this course closes 4 weeks prior to the course date to ensure ample time of pre-reading of the textbook before attending the course.
You will learn how to:
• identify the mechanism of injury
• interpret signs and symptoms
• recognise life threatening injuries
• perform appropriate interventions
• identify a trauma patient with multiple injuries.
