NYU's Clinical Imaging Symposium is organized by NYU Langone Medical Center Department of Radiology and will be held from Jan 21 - 25, 2019 at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo, Papagayo Peninsula, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
The target audience for this medical event is for practicing clinical radiologists in academics or private practice. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 21 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
There are many recent technological advances in imaging techniques and protocols which can be applied to current clinical practice. Maintenance of certification requires continued review of essential imaging techniques in all areas of radiology, including: Thoracic, Breast, Neuroradiology, Musculoskeletal & Abdominal Imaging. This course is designed to demonstrate a practical approach to image acquisition and interpretation in various clinical settings using current up-to-date imaging techniques, while decreasing patient radiation dose. Lecture topics include: breast cancer screening guidelines, abdominal and pelvic imaging, smoking related lung disease, MRI of muscle with a focus on trauma and imaging white matter diseases. In addition to didactic lectures, several case-based sessions will also be included to cover: breast, musculoskeletal, thoracic and neuro imaging.
The Topics of this conference is Thoracic, Breast, Neuroradiology, Musculoskeletal & Abdominal Imaging.
After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to:
• Utilize AP radiographs of the ankle to recognize disease and to correlate it with cross sectional imaging such as CT and MRI, in order to expedite accurate diagnosis and treatment of the patient.
• Describe the latest localization techniques for nonpalpable breast lesions, including their respective advantages and disadvantages, as well as potential pitfalls of using these techniques.
• Evaluate the updated Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LIRADS) and incorporate the changes in order to improve diagnosis, staging and managements decisions for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
• Explain the use of high-resolution DCE-MRI of the pituitary gland using golden-angle radial sparse parallel MR imaging (GRASP).
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
