Extracorporeal Support for Respiratory and Cardiac Failure in Adults is organized by American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and will be held from Dec 12 - 14, 2019 at CHEST Global Headquarters, Glenview, Illinois, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is for intensive care providers, pulmonary and critical care physicians, advanced practice providers (NPs and PAs), ECMO specialists (RNs, RTs), cardiothoracic surgeons, trauma surgeons, cardiologists, and any provider who cares for patients with severe respiratory or cardiac failure.This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 16.75 CME credits and MOC points.
Designed for intensive care providers with patients in respiratory and cardiac failure, this course will be led by experts from high-volume extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) centers and consists of a mix of lectures and high-fidelity workshops. Topics will include patient selection, ICU management of the patient, and basic troubleshooting of the ECMO circuit. More specifically, the course will focus primarily on venovenous (VV) ECMO for severe respiratory failure. The content will also include an introduction to veno-arterial (VA) ECMO for refractory cardiac failure, cardiopulmonary failure, extracorporeal CPR (eCPR), and guidance for starting and maintaining new ECMO programs
