American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) 66th Annual Meeting is organized by American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and will be held from May 28 - Jun 01, 2019 at Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida, United States of America.

All 2019 educational sessions will take place at the Orange County Convention Center. Exercise is Medicine sessions and social events will take place at the Rosen Centre Hotel, which is the ACSM headquarter hotel.

Target Audience:
ACSM members and professionals interested in the field of sports medicine and exercise science.

Continuing Education Credits/Continuing Medical Education Credits:

The American College of Sports Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 34.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Maintenance of Certification
This CME activity provides both American Board of Internal Medicine MOC Part II Medical Knowledge points and American Board of Pediatrics MOC Part II Lifelong Learning points. Fee for MOC points: $15

ABIM - MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 34.5 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

ABP - MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity and individual assessment of and feedback to the learner, enables the learner to earn up to 34.5 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to the ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Prescribed Credits: This Live activity, ACSM Annual Meeting and World Congress on Exercise is Medicine and World Congress on the Basic Science of Exercise, Circadian Rhythms and Sleep, with a beginning date of 05/28/2019, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 34.00 Prescribed credit(s) by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ACSM CECs: The American College of Sports Medicine’s Professional Education Committee certifies that this continuing education offering meets the criteria for a maximum of 34.5 hours of ACSM continuing education credit.

BOC -CEUs: American College of Sports Medicine (BOC AP# P401) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 34.5 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

This comprehensive sports medicine and exercise science conference is the one place to get it all-programming that covers the science, practice, public health, and policy aspects of sports medicine, exercise science, and physical activity.

Conference Objectives:
At the conclusion of the Annual Meeting, participants should be able to:
• Evaluate the biological, biomechanical, psychological and behavioral changes accompanying exercise in both normal and pathological states.
• Analyze state-of-the art and innovative basic science, applied science, and clinical medicine in the areas of exercise, fitness, health, and physical performance.
• Compare new approaches and perspectives concerning exercise science and sports medicine through interactive discussions with scientists and clinicians in related fields.
• Recognize the importance of basic science research as it relates to diseases and conditions that exist due to physical inactivity.
• Assess how physical activity research and practice can contribute to public health.

Clinically Specific Objectives:
• Incorporate new guidelines into the care of the youth athlete to prevent injuries and illness and enhance safe return to play in their sport.
• Develop strategies to counsel patients with chronic diseases to participate in physical activity to improve function and quality of life.
• Determine which athletes with medical conditions and illnesses can safely participate in their sport.
• Explore alternative pain management techniques in the care of athletes with musculoskeletal pain to decrease pain, improve function, and prevent opioid misuse, abuse and addiction in athletes and active people.
• Incorporate best practices in the evaluation and treatment of athletes with musculoskeletal injuries in order to improve athlete quality of life.
