22nd Annual Anesthesia meeting in Puerto Vallarta is organized by University of Michigan Medical School and will be held from Feb 03 - 08, 2019 at The Westin Resort & Spa, Puerto Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
This course is designed to provide the anesthesia provider with a review of the most recent information on many of the components that go into making a successful practice of anesthesiology.
This meeting will focus on practical updates in the clinical subspecialty areas in our field. The conference will include topics in the areas of acute postsurgical care prescribing of opioids and the role in the opioid epidemic, as well as the impact of the opioid crisis on pediatric surgical populations. Additional pediatric topics will include anesthetic management concerns associated with Trisomy 21, 18, and 13, and the role of perioperative glucose management in the neonatal population.
Topics in Neuroanesthesiology include updates in the management of acute stroke patients, traumatic brain injury, and recent guidelines in the management of extraventricular drains. Cardiac Anesthesia topics will include management unique to the cardiac catheterization laboratory and an update in atrial fibrillation. Additional adult content will include ambulatory anesthesia, advances in peripheral regional anesthesia, renal failure, and its associated fluid management, and the role of newer anti-coagulants in patient care. Airway management topics will include those related to the trauma patient, laryngotracheal complications following intubation, and perioperative management of tracheostomies and other airway devices.
Systems based topics will include: Anesthesiologist as the second victim in crisis management, evolving health economic policy and implications for Anesthesiologists, the epidemiology and consequences of perioperative medication errors, and how Anesthesiologists are optimally positioned as leaders in perioperative care. And as usual, we will end each day’s session with a case presentation and clinical discussion.
