The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) Cadaveric Major Open Abdominal Surgery Course 2018
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) Cadaveric Major Open Abdominal Surgery Course is organized by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and would be held on Feb 22, 2018 at Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
The target audience for this medical event is Trainees level - ST3 to ST6 (or equivalent). This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 6.00 CPD Credits.
This course will provide comprehensive and condensed learning experience to compensate for the progressive reduction in the time spent by trainees in theatre as well as the decrease in the numbers of open procedures in general surgery.
Conference Objectives :
The course aims to address the gap in the market for courses covering major open abdominal procedures. In the past, there was no need for this type of course as trainees acquired the necessary skills through 'apprenticeships' and long hours of training. This course will aid the current training model.
After having attended this course participants will have the knowledge and skills required to perform the following surgical procedures under supervision:
• Segmental colectomy;
• Perforated peptic ulcer and bleeding peptic ulcer;
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
