Interdisciplinary Symposium on Osteoporosis (ISO18) is organized by National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) and will be held during May 17 - 19, 2018 at New Orleans Marriott, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is healthcare professionals with an interest in osteoporosis and bone health across the lifespan, including those working in family practice, endocrinology, rheumatology, orthopedics, obstetrics/gynecology, radiology, physical and occupational therapy, public health and research, Physicians, Nurses, Nurse practitioners, Physician assistants, Dietitians, Radiology technologists, Physical therapists, Exercise physiologists, Occupational therapists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 24.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

• FLS Workshop: 4.5 credits (maximum)
• FLS Advanced Workshop: 4.5 credits (maximum)
• Nutrition Workshop: 4.0 credits (maximum)
• Interdisciplinary Symposium on Osteoporosis 2015: 20 credits (maximum)

Symposium Purpose :
The educational program of ISO18 is designed to provide targeted opportunities for presenting the latest information in the research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and advances in and osteoporosis.

ISO18 is unique in that it is the only professional meeting that encompasses all medical disciplines and specialties involved in the skeletal health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with, or at risk for, osteoporosis and related fractures.

Symposium Overall Outcome Objectives :
After participating in the ISO18 participants should be able to:
• Describe the benefits of a coordinated approach to patient care for treating osteoporosis, caring for post-fracture patients and preventing secondary fractures
• Perform appropriate clinical assessments to properly assess fracture risk and diagnose osteoporosis
• Utilize primary, secondary and tertiary treatment modalities for osteoporosis across the continuum of care
• Apply clinical decision-making tools for osteoporosis management within the clinical practice environment
• Differentiate between FDA-approved medications and select appropriate therapies as indicated
• Determine treatment options that consider the etiology of bone loss, including secondary conditions
• Modify exercise routines appropriately for overall bone health and skeletal protection
• Provide evidence-based patient counseling regarding the risks and benefits of calcium and vitamin D and other functional nutritional needs for better bone health
• Appropriately assess fall risk and implement measures to reduce falls
• Implement patient and consumer education programs within their practice and community
• Comprehend emerging science and its effect on the future of osteoporosis care
