The Certification in The Management of the Altered Airway (Tracheostomy & Laryngectomy) programme is designed specifically for Healthcare Professionals, including Nurses, Respiratory Care Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Surgeons (ENT, Max Fax.), Anaesthetists, Intensivists and Community Nurses, who are involved in caring for patients with a Tracheostomy or Laryngectomy.
You will spend 1 day of Lectures and clinical workshops at the start of the course in the International hub (Connecticut, CESI Hartford Hospital, USA or Rila Institute in UK) and then learning through a blended form of learning via an eLearning platform which will include regular webinars. There is a 2nd day at the hub for the Final exmaination i.e. you have only 2 days out of station during the ~ 6 months duration of the programme
It is accredited by the ENT-UK (The Professional organisation for UK ENT Surgeons) for 42 CPD credits and The AARC (American Association for Respiratory Care) for 42 CME credits.
The Certification is also approved by The GTC (Global Tracheostomy Collaborative), the BLA (British Laryngological Association) and DAS (Difficult Airway Society).
This means that when you successfully complete all parts of the programme, you will have an accredited qualification which is recognised by employers and healthcare organisations.
