Activity Objectives:

The objective of this online activity is to provide an update for health care professionals in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of reproductive endocrine and gynecologic issues in the adolescent female. Topics covered include

(1) pubertal delay
(2) sexually transmitted infections and pelvic inflammatory disease
(3) sexual abuse, and menstrual problems
(4) abnormal uterine bleeding
(5) amenorrhea.
Challenges and controversies related to contraceptive management for adolescents will also be discussed.

Case studies are presented to help participants formulate appropriate evaluations. Participants will be able to identify a broad spectrum of possible diagnoses, plan comprehensive workup, and understand treatment options.
