Spine care is a major aspect of clinical medicine, health care expenditures, and innovation throughout the world. Such care in the United States is undergoing drastic changes that may simultaneously provide new obstacles and new avenues for success in the field . There has been significant progress in treating patients with spinal disorders using both operative and constructive techniques, including innovative and minimally-invasive surgical techniques, as well as non-surgical treatment plans. However, there is currently no forum that combines leaders from clinical medicine, industry, hospital administration, insurance providers, and legal and governmental regulation.
In this conference, we seek to bring leaders in each of these fields together to present and discuss the current and future issues around spine care. This exercise will represent a microcosm of United States healthcare changes in general, with ramifications on delivery, cost, investment, innovation and regulation. We will begin with exploring best practices in clinical care as well as future of spinal surgery, emerging trends and opportunities. We will also discuss potential conflicts and opportunities between provider, industry, government, investor and payer groups regarding increasing healthcare expenditures in the industry. This event will also explore areas for improved quality, efficiency and safety as they relate to current and future changes in healthcare industry.
