Rectal Imaging; Part I and II: Self-Assessment Module is organized by American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) and will be held during Jun 25, 2012 - Jun 24, 2018.
The target audience for this medical event is readers of the AJR, radiologists, radiologists-in-training, and other health professionals with an interest in the use of high resolution MRI in local staging, preoperative evaluation, and surgical planning of rectal cancer, and the use of pelvic MRI for the evaluation of perianal fistulas. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 2.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Objectives are :
• Describe the utility of rectal MRI in imaging rectal cancer and use MRI to determine lymph node involvement, depth of tumor invasion, a relationship of the tumor to the mesorectal fascia, and status of circumferential resection margin, which are all necessary for making appropriate treatment decisions;
• Describe the anatomy of the anal sphincter complex and outline the various classifications of perianal fistulas;
• Develop an MRI protocol for perianal fistula evaluation;
• Accurately interpret MR images of patients with suspected or known perianal fistula.
