Dr. Susan Hutchinson is a headache specialist and board-certified family practice physician. In February 2007, she founded Orange County Migraine & Headache Center, dedicated to serving patients with headaches and mood disorders. Although she is not a psychiatrist, she has developed a special interest in treating mood disorders as well as headaches. The mood disorders she treats include depression; anxiety; bipolar disorder; ADHD; and panic attacks. Dr. Hutchinson suffers from migraine headaches which give her empathy with her patients.

She felt such a calling to help patients with headaches and mood disorders that she decided to specialize in and devote her career to alleviating the suffering caused by both headaches and mood disorders. She lectures nationally on the subject of headache; has written dozens of articles for medical journals; participated in headache research projects and is very active in numerous professional organizations such as the American Headache Society and the National Headache Foundation.

She is the immediate post-chair of the Women’s Issues section of the American Headache Society after serving in the chair position for 5 years. Dr. Hutchinson is a dynamic and sought-after speaker. She speaks for community groups as well as professional groups. In 2010 she became the President of The Orange County Chapter of the California Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Weichenthal attended MedicalSchool at Hamburg and Lübeck from 1983 to 1989. After his final exam in Medicine, he graduated as a Doctor of Medicine during medical training as a resident at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Hamburg. In 1994 he became board certified as a Dermatologist and moved to the DermatologicalCenter in Buxtehude, Germany. In 1996 he received board certification as Allergologist. From 1996 to 2001 he served as a senior consultant at the Department of Dermatology at St.George’s Hospital in Hamburg, Germany. Following a scholarship as a research fellow at the Department of Dermatology, the University of Münster in 2000, he moved to Kiel in 2001 for a research position in dermato-epidemiology at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Kiel, Germany. In 2004 he became an assistant professor and since 2009 a full professor of dermatology at the Kiel University.

His main interests are in epidemiology and genetics, in particular in psoriasis and skin cancer including primary cutaneous lymphomas. He works and publishes general systems for epidemiologic methodology and classification of skin diseases. He is a member of several scientific societies and editorial boards, a member of the board of the German Dermato-Oncology Group (DeCOG), and co-chair of the Topic Advisory Group for the ICD-11 dermatology classification at the World Health Organization.
