Biography :
Tatianna (Tasha) Larman is from Southern California and grew up in a military family. After graduating from Harvard University, she spent two years working in Italy before starting medical school at the University of California San Diego. During medical school, she returned to Boston for two years as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute medical fellow, studying the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in cancer using next-generation DNA sequencing. Her current research interests are focused on intestinal crypt stem cell biology and early pathogenesis of colorectal cancer. She is pursuing AP and Gastrointestinal Pathology Fellowship here at Hopkins.

Saumya Jayakumar

Biography :
Saumya Jayakumar, MD, is a hepatologist who treats patients with liver disease. Her clinical and research interests include end-stage liver disease, liver transplant and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. As an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, she trains interns, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Before joining UC San Diego Health, she served as director of the Hepatology Fellowship Program at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine, then had a leadership role in the gastroenterology section. She has a keen interest in and has served on national committees devoted to trainee education.
Dr. Jayakumar completed a fellowship in transplant hepatology at University of Alberta Hospital and one in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease at University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville. She did her residencies in both internal medicine and gastroenterology at University of Western Ontario in London, Canada, where she was chief resident. Dr. Jayakumar earned her medical degree from University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in gastroenterology and internal medicine. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and is author of many book chapters as well. She served as the GI consultant to the Calgary Zoo.

Biography :
Prof. Ayala Stabholz is an associate professor at the Department of Periodontology at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine founded by the Alpha Omega Fraternity. She graduated from the Hebrew University-Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine in 1980 and completed the graduate program in Periodontics in 1985 at the same institution. At present, she is the director of undergraduate training in periodontics as well as an instructor
in the graduate program in Periodontology. She is the official delegate of the Israeli Periodontal Society to the European Federation of Periodontology and a member of the scientific committee of the Israeli Dental Association.
Prof. Stabholz is the past president of the Israeli Periodontal Society and a member of professional committees, boards and dental organizations. She has published extensively and has been lecturing as an invited speaker at national and international dental meetings. Her current research is focused on the application of lasers in the treatment of periodontitis and peri-implantitis as well as on the inter relationship between orthodontics and periodontics.
Prof. Stabholz is the past president of the Israeli Periodontal Society and a member of professional committees, boards and dental organizations. She has published extensively and has been lecturing as an invited speaker at national and international dental meetings. Her current research is focused on the application of lasers in the treatment of periodontitis and peri-implantitis as well as on the inter relationship between orthodontics and periodontics.

Dr. Vassiliki "Liana" Tsikitis was appointed Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and University Physicians Healthcare in November 2008. She joined the Division of Gastrointestinal and General Surgery at OHSU in September of 2011. During her tenure, she completed her Masters in Clinic Research (MCR) in 2013, and was promoted to Associate Professor of Surgery in 2014.
During her medical school, residency, fellowship, and her junior faculty years, Dr. Tsikitis won numerous awards in research, patient care, and teaching, including Outstanding Intern and Outstanding Resident awards, as well as Outstanding Role Model in Surgery. Institutionally, she is the Cancer Liaison Physician for the Commission on Cancer, and is sought after, both institutionally and locally to lecture on colon and rectal cancer, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
