The “3rd Annual UCLA Review of Clinical Neurology” conference (CME credits: 24 AMA PRA Category 1) will be held on September 18th – 20th, 2015 at UCLA campus. This medical conference focuses on new trends in clinical neurology. It provides an overview of the most prevalent Neurological/ Psychological disorders, their treatment strategies, diagnostic techniques and management options.
The conference features Dr. Alon Yosefian Avidan, MD, MPH and Barbara Giesser, MD , as co-directors.
Dr. Avidan is currently Professor of Neurology at UCLA and also serves as a director of the UCLA Sleep Disorders Center. His primary activities focus on medical student and physician education in sleep medicine. He has more than 40 publications to his credit and is the author of two books
and 11 book chapters on Sleep Medicine. He has been endowed as one of the best and top 10 doctors of America
Dr. Giesser, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at David Geffen UCLA School of Medicine and Director of the Marilyn Hilton MS Achievement Center. She has more than 30 publications to her credit on Multiple Sclerosis and Neuro-immunology. She is the Chair of Client Education Committee of the NMSS
and also for the Education Committee of the American Academy of Neurology Section on Multiple Sclerosis. She was the former member of NMSS Task Force on Gender Issues and is the Principal author of “The Compendium of Multiple Sclerosis”. Prof. Giesser has been in the news for her active role in the latest trends and advancements in Multiple Sclerosis treatment strategies.
This year, the course includes patient centric resources (patient advocacy, patient safety & education) and video recordings of the clinical conditions. It provides a common platform for physicians, scientists and researchers alike, to connect and share perspectives on the topics related to multiple sclerosis, headaches, epilepsy, CNS infections, movement disorders, dementia, sleep disorders, neuromuscular diseases, neuro-otology, neuro-rehabilitation, neuro-ophthalmology, neuro-genetics and ethical issues in neurology.
